Some local tidal solutions were obtained with OTIS. Various sets of data were assimilated. If no details are given below, then 364 cycles of Topex/Posedon data only were assimilated. The TPXO global solutions have about the same residual magnitudes as the regional inverse solutions for the open ocean, but the regional inverse solutions fit the data significantly better for complex topographic areas.
To extract tidal harmonic constants and/or predict tide using one or several of the regional solutions you MUST first download OTPS (OSU Tidal Prediction Software). OTPS is written in FORTRAN 90 and tested under UNIX/Linux. The compressed and tarred OTPS package contains README file with details on tidal solution installation and OTPS usage. Some of our regional solutions are available in NETCDF format. These solution can be dealt with netcdf version of OTPS, called OTPSnc:
There also exist a MATLAB toolbox, called TMD, functionally the same as OTPS. The TMD toolbox also includes a graphical user interface, easy to use and available for download at http://www.esr.org/polar_tide_models/Model_AOTIM5.html. The toolbox works with any of our models in binary format.
Details and figures are available for some local solutions. You may download any of the regional solutions below or fill the fields below and click Submit button to get a list of available solutions for the area you are interested in:
