- Aquatic
Biology option in the department of Environmental Sciences
features a 16-credit intensive lecture and field course taken in residence at the Hatfield Marine Science Center.

of Oceanic & Atmospheric Sciences offers a range of classes for undergraduates.
- Fisheries and Wildlife
offers a specialization in Marine Science and special programs, such as a Coastal Ecology Program based at the Hatfield
Marine Science Center on the coast in Newport Oregon and field, lab, and lecture series.

Geosciences offers a range of classes for undergraduates including
GEO/OC 103, Exploring the Deep: Geography of the World’s Oceans. The department oversees
the Undergraduate Certificate in Geographic Information
Science, as well as internships in the Davey Jones Locker Marine GIS and Seafloor Mapping Laboratory.
Students may also seek internships with the
Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Center in Monterey, CA.

Americans in Science, Engineering, and Natural Resources (NASENR) program offers undergraduate internship and mentoring program to increase the
number of students who earn BS degrees and are eligible for graduate
school. Outreach programs include African American, Hispanic, and Asian American students.
- An Oceanography minor is available.
- Oregon Sea Grant offers undergraduate fellowships and internships as funding is available.
Undergraduate student jobs and internships at HMSC are also occasionally available.

- Research Experiences for
Undergraduates at the O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory draws upon research projects from the intersection
of coastal engineering, physical oceanography, and computer science, focusing on coastal processes and the mitigation
of natural hazards, particularly tsunamis and coastal storms.
- Summer courses and internships
offering field and research experience on the Oregon Coast are available at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport.
Classes include biology of marine mammals, fisheries, marine aquaculture, and marine science conservation and policy.
- Zoology.The Department of Zoology offers
emphasis in cellular and developmental biology; organism biology; or ecology, population biology, and behavior.
