Research Vessels:

COAS operates the NSF-owned R/V Wecoma, a 185-foot research vessel, and the R/V Elakha, a 54-foot vessel owned by OSU.

Both vessels are operated out of the Ship Operations facility located at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. The pier facility can accommodate visiting research vessels as well as Wecoma. The use of Wecoma is coordinated by the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS) Schedule Committee, and the Elakha is scheduled by OSU Ship Operations. Scheduling of the research vessels and the pier facility is by arrangement with the college's Marine Superintendent.
